Art deco movie posters have become an extremely popular item over time.  Many households across the world embrace the idea of including their favorite movie star’s faces in bedrooms and living spaces throughout their homes.  However, an art deco poster may not have anything to do with a movie.  In fact, vintage maps and art deco posters, some found in shops and garage sales, are commonly bought and sold to customers who have a desire to include the pieces as a decorating touch at home.

Contemporary and modern room styles accommodate matching art pieces; after all, most room styles are based off of some type of art.  Bold, solid colored art posters that have objects with straight lines and a general modern feel offer focal points for living spaces with a similar finish. Traditional style homes with antique features are fit for vintage art deco posters as well.  Open wall space welcomes the hanging of posters, but many decorators choose to place posters in corners or ground based stands.

Bedrooms and bathrooms, other popular spaces for posters, provide more room for a personal touch.  Movie posters along with favorite and famous art pieces are commonly found in the bedrooms of every age group.  Smaller bathrooms that cannot accommodate full framed posters are better suited for half sized pieces.  Most posters fit best when the colors included match wallpaper or wall finish color.

Art deco posters are often thought of as collector’s items and valuables.  Many popular art pieces found in museums or art academies work their way to print, ultimately being produced into millions of posters for the fans of the work.  Much like framed pictures and portraits, all styles of posters and poster art serve a purpose.  The personal preference of every designer and home decorator is often portrayed through the use of focal point accessories.  Small finishing touches like pillows, pottery and rugs often go unseen by others visiting a home, but attractive and meaningful art deco posters speak volumes, especially when others can relate to the pieces.
